I hated saying goodbye to Fort Pickens but it is time to move on. The rain started in the middle of the night and never let up. I imagine the campers who came in last night are feeling a bit soggy.
This was out my rear window this morning before we left.
The roads were covered in standing water as we made our way out of Pensacola.
We are headed west along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We will be staying in Gulf Shores for a month before our next adventure.
We are staying at the Luxury RV Park off of 59 only a few minutes from the beach. It is a very nice park with all the amenities. Full hookups, cement pads and patios, Cable TV, showers and restrooms, an activity building, pool and a dog walk.
The first four days of our stay was rainy and cold. These are from this morning.
I had an appointment at Camping World for some warranty work on Tuesday. While the camper was being worked on Tracy and I went to a few thrift shops we saw along the way. We ended up at Old Time Pottery and I could spend hours in that store!
We spent time together playing Tri-ominos and Bananagrams.
Thursday evening there was a potluck Thanksgiving dinner with everyone from the park. It was really nice and oh my gosh the food!
Finally on Thursday the weather broke and by Friday we were on the beach. It is only three blocks to the beach from where we are staying.
We had lunch at Bahama Bob’s. I have been to Gulf Shores several times in the past and have never been able to eat here because its always packed.
This was the view from our table.
On our walk back from the beach we caught a ride on a pirate’s ship, where we saw a huge shark and a purple octopus!
Just a short blog this week but the weather is forecasted good this coming week so we will be out and about much more.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thansgiving.
Sorry it rained so much. Looks like u had a great thanksgiving dinner 😊 enjoy & travel on sista! Luv u!

It’s fun to read your blog, good to see your pictures and knowing you are having a great time on your travels. We camped behind you at Ft. Pickens , it rained after you left for a couple of days and turned off cold. Was fun to meet you and Tracy. Be safe and I will continue to read your blog. Happy Camping….Kathy Jenkins

Hey Kathy! So glad you got a chance to read the blog, Thanks! We were worried when we left that you all would be flooded. Since we are only an hour and a half away it rained and was chilly too!
Please stay in touch!
